Covid-19 Pandemisinin Mikrobiyoloji Laboratuvarına Gönderilen Kültür Sayısına Etkisi

Background: We evaluated the number of ear, nose, throat, phlegm, and wound-site culture samples sent to Medical Microbiological Laboratory at a University Hospital in Turkey before during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.Materials Methods: In this study, 2662 cultures 2019, 2020, 2021 were evaluated. The categorised by type year, changes over time assessed.Results: Of patients, 1277 (48%) 1385 (52%) female male, respectively. average age male patients was 58.06 57.71 years, differed significantly among (p ˂ 0.05). numbers wound site, throat years wound, sputum, ear decreased after those nasal increased 2020 2021.Conclusions: COVID-19 pandemic altered being Labora-tory.Key Words: COVID-19, pandemic, culture, laboratory
